Mr. Mustapha Dandaura has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) for Rivers State in the latest reorganisation by the police high command.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, said Dandaura becomes the 40th police chief in the state.
The new commissioner of police replaces CP Usman Belel, who was posted to the Department of Research and Statistics at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Dandaura Belel hailed from Katsina, was the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Anambra Police Command, before his appointment.
The CP was commissioned on March 3, 1990 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police and had served the Force in various capacities.
Dandaura had also attended several professional courses before his current posting.
