The Edo State Government has shut down three Chinese companies to pave way for dialogue in the dispute between them and their host communities in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state.
Leaders of the communities had alleged that Time Ceramics, Rhongsheng Glass Company; Rongtai Aluminium Company and Watson Doors Industry Limited, did not abide by the Memorandum of Understanding signed with them.
A statement yesterday by Governor Godwin Obaseki’s spokesman, Crusoe Osagie, said government acted swiftly to sustain peaceful coexistence between the companies and their host communities.
